Red is the primary color of your first or root chakra which is located at the base of your spine on the pelvic floor. Close your eyes and visualize a red, forward facing lotus flower rotating clockwise. In its healthiest state, it should be shining brightly and spinning smoothly. What is the state of YOUR root chakra? Are there hesitations? Are there dark areas? Are you having trouble seeing it?
In addition to meditation, crystals such as tiger’s eye, smokey quartz and blood stone, yoga, reiki, there are foods that you should be consuming to balance your root chakra, making you feel more grounded, empowered and strong.
Protein is associated with strength and vitality, so eating beans is a great way to connect with the root chakra. Also, red apples, cherries, strawberries, red peppers and raspberries are delicious foods to help you feel the empowerment. Potatoes are from the ground and can help you feel “grounded.” Beets and red potatoes are both from the ground and are also red so they offer double strengthening power.
